Therapeutic Deep Rest Class (Autumn2026)
Fortnightly classes on Saturdays
Autumn season: Returning to Rest
Dates - 19 September, 3rd October
Therapeutic Deep Rest classes are intentionally spacious, offering time to arrive gently, settle into supported restorative practices, explore seasonal themes, and rest in quiet stillness. Afterwards, you're warmly invited to stay for tea, coffee and cake - an optional opportunity to connect with others in the community.
Classes can be booked by single class - £12/class or £20 for set of two classes. Discounts are available for those on low income, just contact info@spacetobreatheuk.com for more. You can also pay-it-forward buy buying a class for someone else in need as a donation - follow this link for more.
Nature doesn’t exist in a state of constant growth. It moves through seasons of activity, rest and renewal. We are no different.
In a modern culture that values productivity and busyness, Therapeutic Deep Rest offers an opportunity to consciously shift from doing into being—resting in ourselves without expectation, letting go of the pressure to achieve or improve, and recognising restoration as an essential part of being human.
Blending Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra, the practice is designed to support deep rest in body, breath and mind. Through gentle somatic practices, comfortably supported postures and guided relaxation, we’ll practise consciously stepping away from the demands of doing, achieving and striving, creating space to simply be. In that space, the nervous system can settle, the body can deeply rest, and restoration can begin.
The class is guided by Fran, our Advanced Restorative Yoga Practitioner, who will support you through practices that include resting in fully supported positions for extended periods, quiet stillness and guided relaxation. Practices involve covering the eyes and gentle visualisation.
Open to people of all genders, these classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous yoga experience. All equipment is provided, although we recommend wearing comfortable clothing, bringing a few extra layers and wearing cosy socks. You’re also welcome to bring a favourite blanket and an item from home with a scent that you find calming.
After each class, you’re warmly invited to join us in the community room for tea, coffee and cake. Staying is entirely optional, and is simply an opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and connect with others before heading home.
