Renew: Poetry Night

How do you find this time of year?

We often understandably talk about February as a dark and cold month where we might not feel our best.

Yet traditionally people have remembered that this time is one of renewal.

Imbolc was a season with Celtic roots that tied to fertility, to the lambing season and the first signs of spring.  Although it doesn’t always feel like it – nights are getting lighter and things are slowly changing.

Poetry has often been associated with this time, so we gathered at Upper Chapel in Sheffield for a night of spoken word poetry, candles and blankets, pancakes and hot spiced apple.

This is all part of our Wellbeing Wheel of the Year which we’ve begun with this Renew season.  The Wheel of the Year is our rhythm for our Wellbeing Community.
