Holistic Yoga: Autumn Term

  • Space to Breathe Scotia Works, Leadmill Road Sheffield, England, S1 4SE United Kingdom (map)

Autumn Theme: Returning to Ourselves

Our Holistic Yoga Class happens weekly on Thursday mornings starting on 17th September.

You can book either a single class (£12) or book a block of classes in our sliding scale of charges (Community £44 for 6, Standard £68 for 6 or Supporter £92 for 6.)

ABOUT THE CLASS

Our weekly holistic yoga classes follow a gentle seasonal rhythm, inviting us to move with the changing energy of the year. Through mindful movement, conscious breathing and guided relaxation, each block of classes explores a different seasonal theme:

Autumn – Returning to Ourselves

Winter – Resting in Ourselves

Spring – Reawakening Ourselves

Summer – Opening to Ourselves

Grounded in a tradition of yoga that emphasises adapting the practice to the individual, each class uses simple, accessible movements that are carefully linked with the breath. Rather than striving to achieve particular postures, we explore how moving with awareness can help us feel more connected to ourselves, cultivating steadiness, ease and balance both on and off the mat.

The classes are designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’re completely new to yoga or returning after some time away, you’ll be encouraged to practise in a way that feels supportive and sustainable for your own body.

Classes are led by our yoga teacher and yoga therapist in training Fran, whose teachers include Lucy Maresh, Judith Hanson Lasater, Ranju Roy, and, over the past two years, A.G. Mohan and Ganesh Mohan.

Open to people of all genders, these classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous yoga experience. All equipment is provided, although we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You may also wish to bring warm socks for the relaxation practice at the end of each class.

After each class, everyone is invited to gather in the community room for tea, coffee and cake between 11.45am-12.15pm. It’s an opportunity to connect with others, ask questions or simply enjoy a moment of community together. Staying is entirely optional, and you’re welcome to head home straight after class if you prefer.
