Shhhh... returns in a new format for 2019

We launched Shhhh… in January 2018 with a simple aim in mind.

Could we create a safe simple space which created a little oasis of calm and stillness in the lives of busy people.

Over the last year we’ve hosted events on the themes of Hope, Light, Remembering and Peace and had fun creating installations and art which helped others find that little bit of calm.

In 2019 we’ve decided to change-up the way we do Shhhh… and want to introduce Shhhh Exhibition Days.

We’ll working with our wonderful friends at 35 Chapel Walk Gallery (on Chapel Walk in Central Sheffield) to run two distinctive and thought-provoking days.

On Sunday 24th February we’ll be hosting Silence. We’ll explore the power and impact of silence, its history and the way silence can help us in our daily lives. We’re aiming to work with local artists and creatives and come up with an imaginative day which will provide a still and sustaining spot in your week. Find out more below.

Then on Wednesday 1st May we’ll be hosting Working Soul. The 1st May has a long history of being associated with work and workers and in 2019 will mark International Workers Day 2019.

We will be creating a gallery space focusing on the “soul” of working. How do we look after ourselves at work? How does work shape who we are ? What do we make of work if we are unemployed or if we are employed? Is there a soulfulness that we can connect with at work?

These Shhhh Gallery Days will be at 35 Chapel Walk in Central Sheffield.

Expect art, creative installations and a number of activities that you can interact with. Expect ambient music, a chilled vibe and some space to reflect and meditate.

The gallery space will be open from 11am to 9pm so you can drop in for five minutes or stay for an hour and you can come anytime you like.

As part of the day they’ll be a closing meditation at 7.30pm drawing together the thoughts and art from the day and offering the chance to spend a longer time in silence.

Entrance is free.

We are running a Facebook Event for these two Exhibition Days as well which you can check out here.
