Personal Wellbeing

In the midst of a pandemic and in the middle of a third lockdown, we found it hard to work out our priorities in support the wellbeing of individuals, groups and communities. We are struggling with some much and with some many issues and challenges - where do you begin?

I was reminded of the wise person who remarked “we are all in the same storm, but not necessarily in the same boat.”

As a team we began to reflect on one of our founding principles - self awareness. If I can begin to get a sense of where I am and what is going on, then maybe I can contemplate my own health and the changes needed to aid recovery.

“Being self aware

is like a mechanic working on the engine of a car. You begin to get a sense of what work’s well and what doesn’t. You can understand the tools and services needed to make it run well.”

Being self aware is like a mechanic working on the engine of a car. You begin to get a sense of what work’s well and what doesn’t. You can understand the tools and services needed to make it run well.

Self awareness isn’t easy to grasp. How exactly do I look inside and see what’s going on? In the past we’ve shared content about Body Scans, Mindfulness and the Stress Container as three valuable tools that help us with the process.

We are now thrilled to launch a Personal Wellbeing Audit which can add to this collection. The Audit is a 5 minute questionnaire, filled with self-reflective questions. It is adapted from our popular Wellbeing Audit, which we use with organisations. We think this is a fantastic way to take your “wellbeing pulse” - working out some of the concerns, fears and emotions that may bubble away inside you.

The Wellbeing Audit doesn’t solve things on its own. What it does do if give you a series of questions with a 1-5 scale where you can ask yourself - how do I feel about that? The questions have been carefully designed to help you think and we have also provided a page with “next steps” resources to ponder after you’ve completed the questionnaire.

We think together these ideas prove to be a handy self-awareness tool. We’d love you to give it a go and let us know what you think.

Information that you share on the Wellbeing Audit is handled anonymous and kept securely as per our data policy. We will use some of the information to help us understand you as our audience and to make sure that our website and its content is relevant to your needs and experiences.
