This week is National Volunteer Work, which celebrates the role of volunteers across the UK and says thank you to the millions of people who give an invaluable contribution to the organisations that they volunteer with.
At Space to Breathe we wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do without our volunteers. From buddies who get alongside people with mental health struggles, to people volunteering at festivals we attend and volunteers who support us with advice and feed into our ideas. Often our volunteers bring a lived experience of mental health and want to give back from support that they have gained and we are so grateful to have these people in our mix. Our contribution to festivals like Tramlines and Greenbelt wouldn’t be possible without the hours our volunteers give to preparing creative resources and providing safe spaces for people to come and chat.
Two volunteers who are part of the work we do are Becky and Jason and we’ll be sharing a little bit of why they volunteer with us later this week.
So this week we’re saying a HUGE thank you to our volunteers and celebrating the role that volunteers across the country play to organisations like ours.
And if you are interested in volunteering with us, you can find out more about how you can get involved here.
