How do you find the process of making a GP appointment? So much of the support available for our physical and mental wellbeing starts with a connection with a GP surgery but often this isn’t an easy thing to do. For example maybe you need to ring at a certain time and that coincides with a time of day when you’re struggling? Sometimes it can feel like snakes and ladders - making progress, then hitting an obstacle.
We know that both Surgeries and Patients are working hard to make our health system work but this might be one example of an area that can be improved. Between 2021 and 2022 the NHS advise that satisfaction in making an appointment declined from 71% to 56% (NHS Data.)
This is one of the reason’s we’re delighted to be working with Lived Experience Sheffield, Healthwatch Sheffield and a host of other partners to launch the GP Access Project. This will be an interactive experience, initially piloted at one surgery but open to all, where we want to hear about your experiences of getting mental health and wellbeing support at a surgery - what can be improved, what creative ideas do you have?
You can find full details of the project below (click on the picture for the link.)
The project kicks off with two ways you can engage:
An online survey which you can fill in today.
An in-person event at Burncross Surgery on Monday 18th September 6-8pm.
Use the buttons below to find out more and complete the survey.
We’d love to see you at the event on the 18th and love to hear your thoughts. Do share them with us if you can.
