10:4 Campaign: would you help us hit our target? UPDATE

Since the Autumn we’ve been running a fund raising campaign called the 10:4 Campaign - looking to make the most effective techniques and tools we use for wellbeing available to those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to access them.

LASTEST UPDATE

Today (5th April) is the last day of the campaign and we’ve been delighted by the response. We’ve raised £3825 of our £5000 target and are going to be working hard today to get as close to the target figure as possible. We’d love you to consider donating to help us get there.

simple, repetitive techniques

The 10:4 campaign looks to unlock four our key wellbeing tools and make the accessible for people. These tools have led to an 85% increase in quality of life in NHS patients we work with. We are aware that boundaries such as language, access issues and additional support needs often means people can’t get the help they need and so we want to change this.

Our target of £5000 will enable us to share these tools with up to 250 people in the Sheffield area. So far, funding has enabled us to:

  • Create resources around grounding, self-awareness, perspective and purpose that can help people connect with these ideas.

  • Take referrals from community organisations to help people who’d otherwise be left with nothing.

  • Begin work on translation into other languages.

  • Offer specific 1:1 work for those who need it.

  • Able to share resources through online spaces to over 100 people.

NEXT STEPS

We’ll be running the campaign up to the end of today in the hope that we can create as much momentum and impact as possible, running into Sheffield’s Mental Health Transformation - where care will be delivered more locally/flexibily - at the beginning of April.

So far the donations we’ve received have enabled us to make significant steps:

  • We’ve created a pack of resources and a course of support which we’ll be launching this month. This will be free to people in the Sheffield area.

  • We’ve already worked 1:1 with individuals across the region providing care they wouldn’t otherwise be able to get due to barriers, waiting lists or them not fitting the criteria for support. This has included 1:1 support. signposting and translation of resources/support.

  • We believe that raising these funds will enable us to support up to 250 people across the city in the coming year.

We are also aware the April 5th deadline is also an important time as many will need help and assistance transitioning into this new approach to care. The Mental Health Transformation will change services in a big way and we’re supportive of it’s approach but aware many may need help to manage this transition.

We’d love it if you could help us by donating to the campaign and helping us get as close as we can to the target. Anyone who does donate will receive a free copy of Reflective, our MP3 collection of meditations which normally retails at £7.99.

You can also share this using social media or to friends and that’d really help us too

ACCEPTANCE

One of the key components in the 10:4 Campaign is sharing the principles of acceptance. Why not check out this video explainer to see the sorts of things we are sharing through the campaign

Acceptance is a bread and butter stress relief approach. Carl Rogers explains that “the paradox is, the moment I accept myself exactly as I am, then I can change.”

Acceptance provides us with the tools to begin the journey of self-awareness - the second of four key principles we are sharing with people.

The campaign looks to translate and share these four ideas into accessible work with up to 250 people:

  • Learning adapted breathing exercises help people ground themselves and see the wood for the trees when life is tough.

  • Learning self-awareness tools through acceptance that enable worries and stresses to move from elusive to known and enables strategies to be built.

  • Learning ways to gain perspective help create realistic and possible routes to recovery.

  • Learning to establish a sense of purpose an hope give people the emotional energy to face the future.

We really hope our campaign can enable us to raise £5000 to share these tools with people in the Sheffield area who wouldn’t otherwise access them. We’d love you to join us in this project and for you to donate - even £10 can make a big difference.
