Opportunities for free/funded activities & referrals with Space to Breathe

We are often contacted to ask what opportunities we have to support people which are free to access or funded. This page summaries all the current opportunities and gives you access to referral details. Scroll down to find more, or use these navigation buttons.

There are a number of ways to access support from Space to Breathe:

  1. Work with us to develop a referral pathway (see below or use the button)

  2. Access an existing funded route such as Men’s Mental Wellbeing Programme - below (funded by Sheffield Council.)

  3. Access a Primary Care or NHS related referral. If you’re from Primary Care, Sheffield Health Partnership University or other Community Mental Health providers, email us and we’ll make sure you have the details.

  4. Join a local area programme such as the work we are doing in Burngreave and Pitsmoor. This starts in April but you can email us for more information.

  5. Join the Wellbeing Community - a free support network for anyone on a recovery journey.

  6. Access digital and online resources such as our Carers pages and our free Space to Breathe app.

  7. Book onto existing courses and support - check out our booking pages or visit specific pages for Yoga and also Counselling (please note these offers aren’t free but concessions are available.)

We also have a number of funded projects where you can either refer someone or self-refer.

Men’s Mental Wellbeing Project

In 2026/27 we are working hard to support Men’s Mental Health. We have 20 spaces to support men one to one who are otherwise not getting mental health and wellbeing support that they need. These places are free but offered on a first come, first served basis. Offer is for emotional stabilisation, peer support and simple counselling (6 sessions.) To refer use the form below.

We also run a number of free to access men’s groups and events. Check out our events page for more.
