the pause pack from space to breathe
As well as the cards, worksheets and items in your Pause Pack, we’ve also included some digital material below for you to enjoy.
PAUSE
Pause is a resource from Space to Breathe designed to create some space in your life for your wellbeing. Inside your pack are three cards on three subjects we find consistently aid wellbeing:
Grounding
Self-awareness
Perspective
We’d encourage you to take some time for each of the activities included and then begin to build your own toolkit of resources and ideas. You might want to explore our Wellbeing Suite as a further way to do this.
Pausing in life is like stepping off the treadmill. Check this video (above) for more.
TAKE A PAUSE WITH A BREATHING MEDITATION
Breathing is a great way to ‘ground’ ourselves and this meditation allows us to go a little deeper. This is an MP3 teaching a simple breathing technique to reduce stress (male voice). Listen below or download via the button.
TAKE A PAUSE WITH A MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
This second MP3 is a basic explainer about to practice mindfulness (male voice.) You can again listen or download below. Mindfulness is a great way to practice being present and can draw out ‘self-awareness’ and ‘perspective.’
TAKE A PAUSE WITH STARGAZING
One way to gain perspective on life is to stare into the night sky. You can spend time just wondering at it’s beauty. You can use the resources in the pack to help you navigate all that’s infront of you and have some fun at the same time. The cards in the Pack cover the night sky July - September. If you’d like to see other times you can download guides here.
We have also featured this great article on Stargazing from the Countryside Charity.
TAKE A PAUSE WITH JOURNALLING
Check out this video for a way to use your journal.
TAKE A PAUSE WITH PLANTING
We have loved to include some seeds in your pack. Check this audio reflection called “Planting Hope” to give you some inspiration.
TAKE A PAUSE WITH YOUR ‘HOLDING TRIANGLE’
We are delighted to include a Holding Triangle in your pack. This works just like a stress ball. Hold it, use it as something to figet with when you’re stressed. Get used to the smooth sides and shape.
We use an approach called the Wellbeing Triangle in our work, and holding the triangle whilst reflecting on this may help. Use the link below to find out more.
Why not hold on the triangle and run your finger along each side. As you do so, think of each element of the Wellbeing Triangle. One side for Self, one side for relationships with Others and one for your sense of Other.
All these resources have been designed and created listening to lived experiences of people across Sheffield. This is part of our ongoing work to support people in the area and if you’d like to help you can donate below.
