There have been numerous studies that show the benefit that practising gratitude has for your wellbeing. When we talk about wellbeing here we mean both the wellbeing of your mind and your body.
The impact practising daily gratitude has is phenomenal. From reducing stress levels, promoting better sleep, reducing gut inflammation and enhancing our relationships, practicing gratitude can have a real impact across the different areas of your life.
Gratitude : A Simple Practice
There are lots of different practices that you can build into your daily life to support and enhance your wellbeing but we love the simplicity of gratitude. It’s accessible to everyone, can be something that you do in a way that you enjoy and wherever you are in life there is usually something you can be grateful for.
Gratitude and Fostering Resilience
Gratitude is also a great way to foster resilience as it helps you to shift your focus in times of difficulty. At the start of the coronavirus pandemic we made a habit of regularly sharing 3 things we were grateful for and we found that it helped us to celebrate the small things and the good things in the midst of the unknown.
This quote from Germany Kent sums it up well…
Gratitude helps you to appreciate what is good, even in the toughest of times.
So why not begin to start practising gratitude today?
There is no ‘one way’ to practise gratitude. It can look like lots of different things, from keeping a gratitude journal to sending a letter to someone to say thank you. We’ll be sharing three different gratitude practices on our social media throughout this week, so make sure that you are following us so you don’t miss out.
